MELISSA

Melissa, a Houston native, began practicing hot yoga in 2012 and quickly discovered the calming effect it had on her mind and restorative effect for her low back pain from a Crossfit injury. Motivated by the profound impact yoga had on her life and ability to do cool things without pain, she completed her 200-hour training in 2015 at YogaOne and followed with a 500-hour certification in 2018. She is now an E-RYT 500 instructor, and has taken additional training in Yin yoga and prenatal yoga. Melissa credits prenatal and zen classes for keeping her joints mobile and low back pain-free. She creates flows with mobility in mind!

How would you describe your classes in three words? Gentle start, body focused, all-level

Do you have any pets? Yes! 3 permanent dogs (Hank, Lucy, & Freya), and I usually have 3-5 additional foster dogs.

What’s your favorite book? It changes all the time, but I'm always down for an ACOTAR reread.
