MELISSA

I'm an E-RYT 500 certified yoga teacher with an interest in slowing down and anatomy. I took my first yoga class in 2012, and was inspired to complete my first 200 hour yoga training in 2015. An eternal student, I started my RYT 500 in 2016 and got curious about how our bodies change throughout our lives. This inspired me to take additional yoga training in yin, restorative, anatomy, and perinatal yoga, as well as functional movement. I love to share the things I learn about movement and our bodies!

What can students expect from your class?

In my classes, expect a lot of 'body talk'. The way we can move our bodies can change drastically when we discover how our muscles work with each other by feeling it. My flow classes build heat with intentional movements (avoiding sun A's) typically to house music. I like to work on the same series for 6 weeks at a time so my students can really see progress within their practice. In my yin classes, we chill out, slow down, and do a different practice every time with ALL the props.

Do you own any pets?

I have 2 permanent dogs, Lucy and Freya, that are super spoiled. They love to sleep on the couch and bark at the neighborhood cats. I also foster dogs with local rescues.
