Wellness mindset what?!

We are SOOO cyclical, once we reach our “goal” we tend to say “tomorrow, next week” until our achieved goal is in the past and we have to work hard ALL over to get back. Why do we do this in our movement and mindfulness journey? We have a eight letter work for you HOLIDAYS - Well we have some why’s that pop up too:

  1. I FEEL great! My routine can wait until tomorrow because I have this BIG project.

  2. I just want to relax, I did all the hard work and I am here so I am good now.

  3. Vacation, vacation, vacation.

Unfortunately this is the WRONG approach and I will tell you why… discipline. It’s a unsexy word because it’s work and aren’t you worth the effort? If we put premium gas in our cars for 3 years and then start to switch to regular gas our engine will notice the difference over time and our car will run different.

When our mind and body goal is balance with a side of feel great; we need to commit to the things that make us feel amazing and place those things above all else. This way when we are out in the world we have premium gas in our tank.

Elite athletes will tell you the same thing, yes talent helps and it is the consistency that matters, not necessarily quantity.

I have some questions for you to ask and answer yourself in your road to feeling your best inside and out!!

  1. Could you commit to 2-3 classes per week and make a meeting with yourself.

  2. Can you choose to a consistent time to meditate every day (can be one minute, pro tip: close the eyes and take a few deep breathes before you walk into the office each morning…:)

  3. Food prep - can you shop to have all you need for the week to not be surprised by hunger?

A few tips to get you on the road to a feel good lifestyle.

FIRST: Commit and schedule your classes a week in advance (Sunday nights is great!)

SECOND: Block your calendar for your mediation and make it a meeting with yourself.

THIRD: Instacart is great! You can order what you need to cook to avoid buying things you don’t need and keeps you accountable
