HYH Week 2: BE Vital – Flow with Creativity & Contentment

Led by Mel

This week in our Harvest Your Health Challenge, we move into BE Vital—an invitation to flow, create, and embrace the sweetness of life. Just as water nourishes and moves freely, we learn to soften rigidity, cultivate joy, and meet each moment with contentment.

Sacral Chakra | Svadhisthana

This week’s energetic focus is on the Sacral Chakra (Svadhisthana), located in the lower abdomen. Associated with the element of water, the color orange, and qualities of creativity, pleasure, and vitality, the sacral chakra governs how we experience joy, passion, and emotional flow.

When balanced, Svadhisthana allows us to move with life, embrace change, and express creativity with ease. When imbalanced, we may feel stuck, uninspired, or overly rigid in our routines and emotions. Through yoga, meditation, and mindful living, we can restore fluidity and vitality to this center.

Ayurvedic Healing for the Sacral Chakra

In Ayurveda, the Sacral Chakra is linked to the water element, which governs flow, flexibility, and emotional expression. Imbalances may appear as creative blocks, lack of pleasure, or feelings of stagnation. To restore balance, nourish your body with hydrating, sweet, and lightly spiced foods—such as mango, orange, dates, coconut, cardamom, or cinnamon. Incorporate fluid hip-opening yoga, dance, or movement, and spend time near water to encourage natural flow.

Daily Practice Tip: Sip warm spiced almond milk or enjoy fresh orange juice to awaken vitality and invite creative energy into your day.

🌿 Yogic Philosophy | The Niyamas & Santosha

Alongside our chakra work, we explore the 8 Limbs of Yoga, focusing this week on the Niyamas—personal practices that cultivate inner growth.

Our spotlight is Santosha (Contentment): finding joy and peace in what is, rather than endlessly chasing what “should” be. Santosha teaches us to build from a place of wholeness, to rest in gratitude, and to celebrate the simple pleasures in life.

In Practice:

  • Notice moments of beauty or pleasure in your day.

  • Accept imperfections in your practice, your body, and your life.

  • Align desires with appreciation for what already exists.

Breathwork & Meditation

Practice: Pelvic Breath / Wave Breath

  • Sit or lie supine with knees bent, hands on the lower belly.

  • Inhale, imagining breath filling the pelvis and hips.

  • Exhale, softening the pelvis and adding a gentle pelvic tilt to create a wave-like motion.

  • Repeat for 3–5 minutes, or pair with gentle hip circles.

Meditation: Flowing River Visualization

  • Find a comfortable seat or lie down, hands resting on your lower belly.

  • Visualize a river flowing smoothly, effortlessly.

  • Bring awareness to your sacral chakra, imagining a warm orange glow expanding with each inhale and melting tension with each exhale.

  • Silently repeat: “I flow with life. I am content in this moment.”

Essence of the Week

Week 2 of Harvest Your Health invites us to embrace fluidity, creativity, and vitality. Just as water moves around obstacles, we practice letting go of rigidity, trusting our natural flow, and cultivating joy in the present moment. Santosha reminds us that contentment is not passivity—it is the foundation from which creativity, vitality, and balance emerge.

At Studio BE, you’ll find our challenge trackers in the studio, helping you celebrate milestones, and enjoy a curated tea pairing each Sunday designed to nourish the sacral energy—think sweet, hydrating, and lightly spiced beverages.
