Reformer Pilates is a form of Pilates performed on a machine called a reformer, a sliding carriage connected to a set of springs that create adjustable resistance. Instead of relying only on body weight like mat Pilates, the reformer lets you push, pull, and control that resistance through a much bigger range of motion.
The result is a workout that builds strength and length at the same time. You’re working against something the whole class, but the machine also supports and guides your form, so the movement stays controlled instead of forced.
BE Reformer is built as an intentional, full-body experience, not a random string of exercises. Each class blends strength work, control drills, and flowing sequences that move you from one position to the next with purpose.
Your instructor adjusts spring tension and setup for your body and your goals that day, whether that’s building strength, working on rehab and stability, or just moving well. No two bodies use the same resistance, and that’s exactly the point.
Our River Oaks studio, a favorite for the reformer format, is well outfitted for group reformer classes.
Our lead trainer, Mel Tello, created The Studio BE’s 50-hour Advanced Reformer Certification and trains every reformer instructor using Pilates principles and modern exercise science.
You'll get hands-on cues and spring adjustments from your instructor, not a one-size-fits-all setup.
No artificial heat. You build heat and strength from the inside out, through the work itself.
Reformer Pilates is Pilates performed on a spring-resistance machine called a reformer. The sliding carriage and adjustable springs let you build strength through a full range of motion, with more support and control than mat work alone.
